MICHEL MARC BOUCHARD ET LORRAINE PINTAL, MÉMOIRES ET VIOLENCE : LE GRAND ENTRETIEN

La réputation du dramaturge Michel Marc Bouchard dépasse largement les frontières du Québec. Dramaturge, scénariste, librettiste, directeur artistique d’exposition et professeur, il a écrit plus de 25 pièces de théâtre, traduites en plus de vingt langues, plusieurs fois primées au pays et à l’étranger et ayant donné lieu à quelque 450 productions à ce jour. Il s’entretiendra avec la directrice du Théâtre du Nouveau Monde, Lorraine Pintal. Il sera question de son parcours, de ses collaborations dans le domaine du cinéma, des thèmes qui fondent sa création : le travail de la mémoire, les non-dits qui hantent les mémoires individuelles, familiales et collectives avec ce qu’ils portent de violence contenue et d’affection secrète, la tentation de la poésie comme vision du monde, les retours du refoulé…

FEMMES D’OCCIDENT, FEMMES D’ORIENT :
QUELLE SOLIDARITÉ ?

Des décennies de combats féministes ont suscité de nombreuses avancées dans la condition des femmes, encadrée par le droit, remodelée par l’évolution des mœurs. La réalité montre pourtant de grandes disparités – souvent préoccupantes – selon les pays, les cultures, les régimes politiques. Le féminisme lui-même connaît différentes approches, selon les générations et les écoles de pensée. La solidarité féminine est-elle compromise pour autant? Est-elle acquise? Les combats de l’une sont-ils les combats de toutes? L’Orient et l’Occident peuvent-ils se rejoindre sur ce point? Conversation entre la jeune romancière d’origine iranienne Baharan Baniahmadi (Prophetess, Véhicule Press), lauréate du prix Metropolis bleu/Conseil des arts de Montréal 2023, et l’autrice Martine Delvaux (Ça aurait pu être un film, Héliotrope).

And… Will the mischievous gusts of wind kick the dead leaves up, whisk hats and children into air? Will the super moon get a bit too close to earth to join the party?

Ah! There goes a little witch on her broom, on a mission to save the neighbourhood kids. Another one faces off with the gales that want to sweep her away. A princess and superheroes join forces against a vampire. And a highschooler shows us that no one’s too old to celebrate Halloween!

Blue Metropolis presents 4 new podcasts to imagine, surprise, play, reflect, laugh, and soften the hallows this fall. For little and big kids alike.

2023 FESTIVAL – RELIVE OUR ONLINE PROGRAMMING

This year, for the spring edition of our Festival, we offered you a mouth-watering online program: short interviews with some of the featured writers of this 25th edition. There were also in-depth interviews on a variety of subjects: with Innu poet Joséphine Bacon; on a garden turned into a work of art, with North Hatley author, artist and photographer Patterson Webster; on literature in the age of capitalism, with essayists Inès Sol Sola and Hélène Ling; and on feminism, with two leading figures in Latin American literature, Gioconda Belli (Nicaragua) and Claudia Piñeiro (Argentina).
