01. Bonjou, kouman ou ye?
Inivèsite McGill. Mwen menm mwen se yon atis miltidisiplinè k ap travay sou non “GLOWZI”. Pa mwayen premye piblikasyon sa a kòm yon nouvo kroniker nan Metropolis Bleu, mwen ta renmen akeyi ou nan kolòn mwen an ki gen tit “Les péripéties de GLOWZI”.1
Approximately five months ago, I was introduced to Metropolis Blue Foundation by the amazing professor Dr. Charmaine Nelson. In an e-mail sent to the entirety of my “Black People in Pop Culture” class, Dr. Nelson encouraged every student to apply to a contest titled “There Is Something About You”. At the time, little did I know how many blessings would come my way following Dr. Nelson’s email, and more precisely my decision to enroll myself in Metropolis Blue’s contest. Following the warm welcome my “Black Book initiative” received from the general public as well as Metropolis Blue’s team, I was awarded the “There Is Something About You” final prize. A few months later, William St – Hilaire, Metropolis Blue’s president and creative director, reached out to me with an offer to be one of the Foundation’s web blogger, and that, despite their knowledge of my complete lack of experience within the field. Although this mandate seemed quite imposing at first, the team’s warmth, my curiosity as well as my eagerness to learn made me accept this amazing opportunity. Fast-forwarding to the present, here I am, more excited than ever to be introducing myself as well as my blog titled “Les péripéties de GLOWZI”.
As a multidisciplinary artist as well as a student majoring in art history and psychology, my field of interests is quite broad and scattered. In order to honour the latter, I aim to mirror my multiple interests as much as possible by writing about a large array of subjects ranging from book reviews to restaurant recommendations and written accounts of visits of hidden gems around town. Through my written experiences I will take you on a trip around the world as I see it, experience it, and feel it. Furthermore, I will keep you updated about Metropolis Bleu’s funky, spicy and well-seasoned activities.
Welcome to “Les péripéties de GLOWZI”.
