FALL 2025 AT BLUE METROPOLIS
The fall harvest of 2025 is beautiful. Two writers with an immigrant background, one of Burundian origin, the other Senegalese, will meet to to reinvent identity and celebrate the memory of West African communities. A writing competition, Planet, My Love…, for budding young writers, is come back for a second season. The Tales and Construction series with workshops in librairies for children, and The 2025 Festival replay. There’s no better way to spend your fall.

L’AFRIQUE AU CŒUR – CONVERSATION ENTRE STEPHIE MAZUNYA ET MADIOULA KÉBÉ-KAMARA

Des trajectoires d’exil se répondent : chez Stephie Mazunya, lauréate du prix Nouvel Apport Metropolis bleu/Conseil des arts de Montréal (S’enjailler, éd. du remue-ménage) quatre jeunes Montréalaises afrodescendantes cherchent à retisser les fils joyeusement entremêlés de leur histoire; chez Madioula Kébé-Kamara (Niarami, une armure replacée avec amour, Le Lézard amoureux), l’oralité mandingue se mêle au français pour réinventer l’identité et célébrer la mémoire des communautés d’Afrique de l’Ouest. Ensemble, leurs récits explorent migration, héritages culturels et transmission.

PLANET, MY LOVE…
Planet, My Love… is a fiction writing contest, in English, open to students with a taste for literature or creative writing. The contest invites 18-30 year-olds to explore climate emergencies through literature.
This year, a $50 gift certificate valid at Paragraphe bookstore will be offered to the first twenty people who submit a text that meets our eligibility criteria.
TALES AND CONSTRUCTION
The construction trades have always fascinated both young and old. Just watch how many people linger in front of a construction site to see it for yourself. From an early age, children love hearing the story of The Three Little Pigs.
Drawing inspiration from his children’s novel La cabane de Léo, author Gabriel Anctil offers a workshop on building and construction. Young participants, both girls and boys, will play with words and ideas as they explore tools, building trades, and the joy of creating.
