The Franco-British writer and jurist Philippe Sands, an acknowledged specialist in the concept of "genocide" and author, among other titles, of The Last Colony. A Tale of Exile, Justice and Britain’s Colonial Legacy, East West Street: On the Origins of Genocide and Crimes Against Humanity and The Rat Line, receives the Blue Metropolis Words to Change Award for his contribution to a better understanding between peoples and cultures.
