CALL FOR PROJECT PROPOSALS – 2024 FESTIVAL

As the Blue Metropolis Festival turns the page on a quarter century and begins the next one, the 2024 edition will lead the way under the banner of a fresh theme: What will our dreams be of?
It’s an idea we owe to Shakespeare. “We are such stuff as dreams are made on,” he wrote in The Tempest, “and our little life is rounded with a sleep.” It makes you think. If human life is so fragile, it’s also rich with imponderables, mysteries, everything that escapes the material world—with dreams, in short. It’s bound to be a fruitful theme, and it plants the seed for a myriad of questions the 2024 edition Festival program will explore from April 25 to 28, 2024 (in person).
2024 call for proposals
The Festival is always looking to integrate interesting Greater Montreal and regional projects from Quebec’s literary communities. Whether English, Spanish, French, bilingual or trilingual, we want to hear your ideas. Please note budgetary and space constraints mean a limited number of project proposals will be accepted.
- Accepted projects will benefit from a financial contribution of up to $800 in Festival funds, to help cover direct project costs.
- The projects must each be entirely organized by the partner and presented in a venue chosen and coordinated by them.
- The projects will appear in the official Festival program and must take place between April 14 to 29, 2024.
- Projects must reach a minimum of 150 people (in person and/or online)—projects with significant reach will be prioritized.
To submit a project, please use the form below and return it by October 27, 2023 to festival@metropolisbleu.org.
Project formats
Walking tours, literary shows, performances, book and literary magazine launches (the latter must include creative content), etc.: the possibilities are many, as long as literature features prominently.
We are also open to projects for different age ranges, whether for children, teens, adults, or the whole family.
Deadline
The 2024 call for proposals will be open from 14 September to 27 October, 2023.

Each project proposal will receive careful consideration. Only those whose projects are accepted will be contacted. They should hear back by November 15, 2023.
