Individual and corporate contributions play a major role in the sustainability of Blue Metropolis Foundation. This support allows us to produce the yearly Blue Metropolis Montreal International Literary Festival and ehe Children's Festival  as well as educational, literacy and literary activities. Businesses and individuals who invest with us contribute to innovative programmes and to the enrichment of our community. 

Partnership is an art involving the creation of a mutually beneficial relationship.  It is also a great way to be associated with a unique organization with a national and international reputation. Blue Metroplis Foundation is doing a great deal to make this a city worth living in, and one of the most important strands of our work is in educating the general public and bringing in everyone to share in the pleasures of reading and writing, including people of slender means – recent immigrants, young people and the marginalized. 

An individual’s capacity to read and write has a strong impact on their career opportunities, their quality of life and that of their families, and the community at large. However, the statistics paint a gloomy portrait of the situation: 16% of Quebec’s population and 15% of Canada’s population aged 16 to 65 years have very limited reading skills (source: EIACA, 2003).
