QUEBEC ROOTS: THE PLACE WHERE I LIVE
Elementary and Secondary schools

In English only

The successful Quebec Roots programme is now in its sixth year. It introduces professional authors and photographers to elementary and high school students. They show their work to the students and then provide instruction on how the students themselves can create their own texts and images about their community. The students' work is published in a book and launched during the Blue Metropolis Festival in April!

Small group meetings and creative writing workshops with distinguished authors during the Blue Metropolis Montreal International Literary Festival. This longstanding programme will celebrate its 11th edition this year! Nearly 5,000 participants have taken part in the programme since its beginning in 2000.

TREATS FROM THE TERROIR - NEW
Extracurricular programme for young people aged 6 to 25.

Treats from the Terroir help youth to explore their own heritage through the powerful symbol of food. Throughout Quebec, participants learn about Anglophone food writers and food producers, and collectively product a book on locally produced food.

In English as a second language in Quebec / In French as a second language in the other provinces
This project provides exposure to a second language and improves young Canadians' linguistic abilities through correspondence on the social network Twitter, and on a blog. In 140 characters, participants get to experience how life is lived in the other official language and in other parts of the country.
