HENRY AUBIN, born in New Jersey, was a Washington Post reporter before becoming a Montreal Gazette columnist. He wrote Rise of the Golden Cobra in 2007 to bring to life a story of ancient African conquest described in his non-fiction book Rescue of Jerusalem.
